oh no, mommy…it’s…the…INTERNET!!
i’ve talked about my feelings concerning copyright issues and cultural technology implications on the blog before, so i thought this cartoon—while somewhat hyperbolic (like most good editorial cartoons)—was pretty funny. beyond being funny, though, it actually raises worthwhile questions about technology advances and how the media industry always tend to be slow to change and accept the inevitable. technology and popular culture, ultimately, determines industry standards & business models and not the industry itself… ok, before i get carried away, here it is.
