grading my grammy predictions
each year, when the grammy nominees are announced, i like to take to the ol’ blog to make a few predictions.
if you peruse that post, you can see all the said predictions and i’m here now to take a look at how i did. last year, i was pretty spot-on, so let’s go pick-by-pick and see how i did this year.

who actually won: lorde’s royals (i honestly think i mistyped when i picked justin timberlake to win this. i would’ve put cash on lorde winning this category.)
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: WRONG 🙁

well friends, let’s keep it real: this was a pretty sad showing from me. out of 11 picks, i only got 3 correct. correct me if i’m wrong, but 27% is a failing grade…
some of this year’s winners really surprised me, while others were ones that i came very, very close to picking but ultimately leaned another direction. i suspected that this could be a big year for macklemore & ryan lewis, but i didn’t foresee them sweeping the rap categories. those alone would’ve tipped the scales the other direction on my picks. and i should’ve known to pick daft punk for album of the year. i really disliked that album, but i should’ve know the grammy voters would want to reward it.
